Keefer's West Coast Soil Products

A blend of garden loam, peat soil, and organic compost - An ideal soil for all West Coast landscaping needs. This was the first soil developed by Keefer's over 25 years ago and continues to be a top seller. Annuals, perennials, and shrubs have all been grown successfully in this product year after year.

Ready to grow all West Coast container creations, planter boxes, and baskets. Clean and consistent, this supreme blend is screened and contains sphagnum peat moss, organic compost, and soil, with pumice and/or perlite. Provides necessary nutrients for establishing plants while the pumice establishes good drainage and aeration while promoting root growth. Ph adjusted with dolmite lime for season long success. Regular fertilizing throughout the growing season is required.

In 2005 we will be packaging a commercial hanging basket mix. This is the same mix that we use in our award winning hanging baskets and containers, minus the slow release fertilizer. All other ingredients needed to produce an excellent basket are present: sphagnum peat moss, approximately 30% perlite, trace elements, wetting agent, and balanced ph. Regular fertilizing throughout the growing season is required.

Energize your soil with our select organic compost product. Adds strength and body to compacted, nutrient poor soil. A blend of fully composted manure (80%), sphagnum peat moss (20%), bone meal, and kelp meal; screened for consistency and bagged in a manageable 28L bag. This product is 100% organic. Soil Energizer is not a recommended direct planting medium for young tender newly developing plants, but when combined 50/50 with peat, loam, or other planting mediums, it produces excellent results.

Composted Mushroom, Steer, and Chicken Manures are ideal for yearly incorporation into vegetable gardens, flowerbeds etc. These products may also be used as a top dressing for established trees, shrubs, and perennials in the spring, summer, or fall. All manures originate from established farms in the Lower Mainland and are fully composted and shredded prior to bagging.

Clean pit run sand from the Sunshine Coast. Free of weeds, silt, and salt.

A consistent grade of angular screened rock from the Sunshine Coast. Ideal for use in the bottom of planter boxes and containers; improves drainage and reduces stress on roots created by saturated soils.

Screened pumice from the Squamish area is a superb product with many uses. Use alone as a rooting medium for cuttings, or incorporate into soils for increased aeration and drainage. Ideal for cactus and succulent plantings, or any plants that require extra drainage and aeration.
